This tree is at the foot of the bank on the south side of the Malus Walk.

All parts of the plant are poisonous.

Distribution:‘Vossii’ is the best known cultivar of Laburnum × watereri, a naturally occurring hybrid. Its parents are the common laburnum, Laburnum angyroides, and alpine laburnum, Laburnum alpinum.

Growth Habit:A small deciduous tree or large shrub,
Bark:Smooth and grey.
Leaves:Leaflets oval or ovate 4 to 6 cm long.
Flowers:Bears pendent 60 cm racemes of bright yellow flowers in spring.
Ultimate size:Growing eventually to 8 m tall and broad
Uses:A popular garden plant, often called the ‘Golden Chain Tree’ for its spectacular display of hanging clusters of yellow pea-like blossoms. t can be trained to take forms such as arches and espaliers.
Laburnum × watereri  was found at the Knap Hill Nursery, Woking, Surrey and introduced before 1864.
Origin:The cultivar Laburnum × watereri ‘Vossii’ was first described in the Netherlands in 1875.
