#C12 MITCHELL’S WHITEBEAM Sorbus thibetica mitchellii

Raised in Westonbirt Arboretum. Gloucestershire and purchased from Blakedown nursery in December 1997.

Leaves:     Large, entire, with downy white undersides.

Flowers:    Terminal clusters of five-petalled white flowers, with striking pink-tipped stamens, on white-felted stems.

Fruit:    Speckled, ripening to rosy, up to 1” (3cm) in clusters in late October.
